Shamanic history is as old as human history, perhaps older. Every tribal culture worldwide practices or has practiced some form of shamanism. Archaeological digs of Neanderthal grave sites indicate shamanic practice well before modern man. Each of us, if we go back through our ancestry, will come across shamanic practice. The Mystical Attic practices and shares with you modern tribal shamanism. We are not attempting to practice or be Native American healers, nor emulate shaman from New Guinea. We offer and practice shamanism for today's modern life, a way to bring back an ancient form of spiritually based living and healing for the world in which we live. We do not call ourselves "Shaman". We follow a shamanic path for healing and personal calling, the role of Shaman is a title conferred by community, not self.
Shamanic Healing is most easily described as contacting Spirit in order to help oneself and others. Shamanic Healing is spiritual healing. Shamanic healing is NOT a medical technique, nor is it psychiatric healing; although it is compatible with, and complimentary to, many healing modalities assisting people in moving towards balance, health and wholeness. It is not an exclusive approach to health. Shamanic Healing may include prolonged discussions, this is not a "counseling" technique and your Shamanic Practitioner is not acting as a counselor, but as a facilitator for Spirit. Shamanic Healing can help you restore your spiritual energy, health and balance, but you must be willing to do your share to become whole and continue to heal.
Shamanic Healing includes many possible techniques such as ally retrieval, soul retrieval, extraction work, energy healing or in some cases psychopomp.
